Dr. Herve Tiwa (Herve Tiwa Lontchi) is a prominent Cameroonian researcher, lecturer, and expert in Information and Communication Sciences. He serves as the Head of the Communication Department at the ISTIC (Higher Institute of Translation, Interpretation, and Communication) in Cameroon. Driven by the technological evolution of media, he founded and directs the Med.IA Lab [1.1.6, 1.33], a pioneering research and innovation hub dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence and driving digital transformation within African newsrooms [1.33].

Beyond his academic roles, Dr. Tiwa plays a strategic part in the regulation and ethics of journalism in the digital age across Central Africa. Notably, he is the chief architect of Cameroon’s first national ethical charter regulating the use of AI in media. By organizing national symposiums in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, he actively promotes responsible journalism that balances technological innovation with informational integrity.
