Professor Louis Richard Njock is a prominent Cameroonian medical expert, academic, and senior public official who currently serves as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Health of Cameroon, a position he has held since June 2021. He is a Full Professor of Medicine, specializing in Otolaryngology (ENT) and head and neck surgery. His extensive clinical and academic expertise has earned him international acclaim, culminating in his election as the President of the International Francophone ENT Society in June 2025.

Before steering health policy at the ministerial level, Professor Njock built a distinguished career in hospital administration. He notably served as the Director General of the historic Laquintinie Hospital in Douala starting in April 2016, where he spearheaded major modernization projects and institutional reforms. Prior to this, he managed the Regional Hospital of Edéa, accumulating decades of practical healthcare experience since beginning his medical career in 1993.

In his current role as Secretary General, he acts as the technical cornerstone of Cameroon’s health ministry. He is heavily involved in coordinating the national rollout of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program through digital innovation and overseeing hospital management across the country. Additionally, he is leading the preparations to host the prestigious World ENT Congress in Yaoundé in 2027.
