Dr. Ngala Desmond Ngala is a Cameroonian civil society leader, governance and digital rights practitioner, and the CEO/Founding President of Civic Watch Cameroon, an organisation working to strengthen democratic participation, human rights, civic space, peacebuilding, and digital rights in Cameroon. His work sits at the intersection of democratic governance, civic participation, information integrity, digital rights and conflict prevention, with a particular focus on strengthening the capacity of citizens and civil society to participate meaningfully in public affairs and hold institutions accountable. Through Civic Watch, he has led initiatives involving community engagement, youth participation, media and information literacy, early warning and early response, countering hate speech and disinformation, and policy dialogue with public institutions and other stakeholders.
