Boris is a prominent Cameroonian artificial intelligence researcher, digital governance expert, and UNESCO award winner. He serves as the Executive Director of Intelligence Artificielle Cameroun (Cameroon AI Policy Institute), where he champions the integration of localized technology to solve regional issues, particularly in agriculture and enterprise decision-making. Kouekam academic background is rooted in communication and international relations, having studied at the prestigious École Supérieure des Sciences et Techniques de l’Information et de la Communication (ESSTIC) and the Institut des Relations Internationales du Cameroun (IRIC).
His early research focused on media and journalism, including investigative work on systemic issues affecting local youth.As a thought leader in AI policy, Kouekam actively shapes the future of digital administration and e-governance across Central Africa. He served as a strategic consultant for the National Commission for UNESCO, directly contributing to Cameroon’s Artificial Intelligence Readiness Assessment Report in alignment with global ethical standards. Demonstrating a strong track record in corporate leadership alongside his research, he was appointed as the Central African Director of GTEK France in January 2026 to drive the expanding technology company’s footprint across the African continent. Through his leadership at the Cameroon AI Policy Institute, he continues to support local innovations like Dastudy, demonstrating that African-centered documentation is essential for contextual, high-impact AI tools.
