Dr. Bobuin Jr Valery Gemandze Oben is an accomplished constitutional law expert, transitional justice specialist, and youth advocate from Buea, Cameroon. His doctoral research focused on judicial independence within Cameroon’s bi-jural system, proposing structural reforms aimed at improving post-colonial governance and accountability.

Currently serving as an advocacy specialist for the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR), Dr. Valery actively pushes African governments to utilize transitional justice frameworks rather than securitization to resolve deep-seated governance crises. His extensive policy footprint includes authoring key reports on accountability in post-conflict states and leading regional interventions across Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger to counter violent extremism. Recognized globally for his leadership, he also serves as an International Organization for Migration (IOM) Youth Migration Ambassador and has advised high-level state bodies, including the Office of the President of Uganda, on building community and youth resilience.
